Tyndrum is a busy tourist village of great strategic importance set astride The West Highland Way. It comprises a high quality owner`s bungalow, a bespoke walkers hostel for 28 persons, pitches for static caravans, 5 Trekker Huts, a 3 bedroom timber chalet for holiday lets and tent pitches. It also includes a shop for the campsite as well as an amenity building for the site providing toilets, showers and kitchen facilities. There is also a separate drying room. The bungalow was built in 2004 and offers vestibule, hall, lounge, dining room, kitchen with gas fired Rayburn, utility, Wc, 3 bedrooms, master en-suite shower room, bathroom, office and shop. There is a gas fired central heating system and double glazing. The property may only be occupied by the owner / manager of the site. The hostel was constructed in 2006 and offers a high quality facility with accommodation for 28 persons. It is licensed for use throughout the year. There are 8 bedrooms, a central lounge / dining room / kitchen, drying room, 4 showers and 4 WCs. The upper floor of the hostel is floored and lined and subject to the required consents could be developed to provide additional accommodation.

The caravan pitches total 15 with space to form more if needed. At present 13 are occupied and pay an annual fee. The Trekker Huts provide accommodation for 4 people including sitting and bedroom space. They do not have kitchen or bathroom facilities. There is a 3 bedroom timber chalet which is utilised for holiday lets and there is a privately owned chalet on the site which pays an annual ground rent. Opposite the hostel there is a level area in grass which is utilised for tent pitches. There is an amenity building on the site which provides ladies and gents toilets, showers, kitchen and drying room. The site licence permits a maximum of 168 people on the property at any one time. The caravans, huts, chalets and tents are restricted to 9 months of the year use from March to November. The hostel and bungalow can be occupied for the full calendar year.

Directions
From Stirling travel west on the A84 through Callander to Lochearnhead. Follow the A85 to Crianlarich, then the A82 to Tyndrum. On entering the village turn left just after the tourist information sign beside The Royal Hotel. This road leads to By The Way. From Glasgow follow the A82 up Loch Lomond side to Crianlarich, then the same directions as above.

The current tariffs for the site are as follows:
Caravan pitch -£1,200 per anumn. Private chalet pitch -£1,600 per anumn. Hostel -£15-£19 per person per night. Camping -£6 per person per night. Huts -£10-14 per person per night. Chalet -£400 per week. All tariffs are inclusive of VAT. The services for the site are mains electricity, mains drainage and a private water supply.
